Summary:

Work in a lead position on the Client Records Management Team researching, coordinating and performing computer inventory of all types of well, geological, and geophysical data using database software such as Trango and IHS Enerdeq.

 

General Job Duties:

• As a Senior Data Specialist, accurately research, analyze, organize, verify, inventory, and file all new geological and geophysical data such as well logs, well files, and lease files, in a timely manner. Serve as backup to IHS Project Supervisor to coordinate work activities with team members.

• Utilize the required inventory guidelines and quality control standards in order to maintain the integrity of the data bases. Provide quality control checks on the work-group personnel to provide accuracy in databases and processes.

• Oversee and coordinate assignments and monitor activity of current and any additional IHS personnel to ensure customer's data is properly organized, catalogued and maintained.

• Act as the senior liaison with the customer's staff in order to gain an understanding of all data procedures, issues, and concerns. Meet all schedules requested by the customer.

• Maintain internal reports and performance records as required by the customer and the IHS Supervisor.

• Keep immediate IHS Supervisor informed of any known issues and changing requirements in order to respond accordingly. Perform other duties/assignments as required.

• Have familiarity with extensive researches on regulatory websites.

• Have knowledge of domestic and international petroleum related data.

 

Required Education:

• College degree preferred.

 

Required Experience:

• 8 years experience working with petroleum related databases including cataloging, indexing, filing, and retrieving exploration, production, and lease data.

 

Other Skills:

• Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet schedules.

• Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, and to organize thoughts, ideas, and processes.

• Ability to recognize and resolve problems both independently and in a team environment.

• Ability to mentor and train technical staff on new procedures, software and projects.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2007 and Excel 2007.

• Ability to retrieve petroleum information from Texas RRC, MMS, and IHS Enerdeq helpful.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift containers or boxes of up to 50 pounds.

• Office location is Irving, Texas. Paid covered parking is provided.

Geological Technician II

This individual will provide analytical and technical support to New Ventures team, including but not limited to building projects in Petra (e.g. creating maps with land, geological and well data), extracting well information from PI/Dwights, Drilling information, State websites, and other sources.  This role will also be responsible for monitoring competitor activity and maintaining a database of potential acquisition opportunities and prospects.  Clerical duties will include filing, processing invoices, and general research.  This role will also prepare PowerPoint presentations for board meetings, potential partners, and other vendors.

Senior Staff Geophysicist

Following recent successful exploration in Egypt, the Egypt Business Area group seeks a highly motivated, experienced candidate to fill the critical role of Appraisal-Development Geophysicist for a potential appraisal-development of recent discoveries in the Western Desert in Egypt.  The position will be based in Houston, Texas. This is a rare opportunity to have a material impact in the appraisal and development of existing, and future, onshore fields in a highly prospective, emerging new trend of an already prolific basin. 

The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to develop and maintain important and lasting inter-personal relationships with co-venturer companies in Egypt, and will promote and defend Client's interests in projects as they move from exploration to development and production. Additionally, this individual will participate in the peer review of existing international assets and proposed new projects in Egypt and elsewhere as applicable to experience. As a result of significant recent growth, a position has been identified for a Regional Geologist in the Egypt Business Area group, based in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will be a responsible for prospect development, geological well operations, data analysis, and new ventures opportunity assessments Client’s material Egypt exploration acreage position in the Western Desert - Nile Delta transition area. 

The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team primarily on a geotechnical level integrated with commercial screening, resulting in the growth of the Company's Egypt portfolio. Grappie Personnel Services, LP is currently representing a client that operates oil production of some 650,000 barrels per day and gas production of up to some 1,000 million cubic feet per day. Activities are ongoing in the Danish, British, and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea, Qatar, Algeria, Angola, Kazakhstan, Oman, US Gulf of Mexico and Brazil. Innovative application of advanced seismic techniques combined with ultra long horizontal drilling and completion and stimulation technology, has been key to Client’s continued success.

 

Client is expanding activities in its Houston office, with emphasis on Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and Angola. In order to sustain this growth, a geophysical group has recently been created. Work with interpretation, development and production teams to solve seismic processing and imaging problems required to mature exploration prospects and to define optimal solutions for field development.  Initial focus will be on projects in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and Angola.

Critical Skills:

The successful candidate should have experience working with seismic contractors with a specific focus on re-processing, QC/QA procedures, depth velocity building and project management. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in seismic processing, including seismic survey design and pre-stack seismic modelling, post migration signal enhancement, and velocity model building for depth migration.  Time and depth migration experience should include: Kirchhoff migration, wave-equation migration, reverse-time migration and beam migration. A keen interest in applying new technology and workflows will be appreciated.

Senior Simulation – Enhanced Recovery Engineer (Plano, TX)

The Company is the largest oil and natural gas operator in Mississippi, owns the largest reserves of CO2 used for tertiary oil recovery east of the Mississippi River, and holds key operating acreage in onshore Louisiana, Alabama and Texas Barnett Shale areas.

The Company increases the value of acquired properties in its core areas through a combination of exploitation drilling and proven engineering extraction practices.

We are seeking an experienced reservoir engineer with advanced compositional simulation and enhanced oil recovery expertise.

Qualifications

Candidate should have a demonstrated record of successfully completing a significant number of practical reservoir studies involving reservoir description, fluid and rock property generation and compositional simulation.

In addition, candidate should have experience in developing equations of state and associated lab procedures for generating fluid property data employed in equation of state tuning.

Candidate should also be familiar with reservoir description technology employing geostatistical methodology and be able to coordinate and direct integrated reservoir description
projects.

Job responsibilities include conducting and directing integrated reservoir studies employing compositional simulation to assist in the design and management of our client’s CO2 floods. Coordinating and directing fluid and rock property acquisition programs.

Coordinating and directing integrated reservoir description programs employing advanced geostatistical procedures designed to provide the geologic model employed in the simulation models.

Good communication skills are required to interface with geoscience and engineering staff responsible for Denbury’s many existing and pending the CO2 flood implementations and management.

Required Education:
Reservoir engineers with a PhD degree in engineering with 20+ years of major oil company experience are preferred.

Sr. Project Manager - Facilities (Plano, TX)

The Company is the largest oil and natural gas operator in Mississippi, owns the largest reserves of CO2 used for tertiary oil recovery east of the Mississippi River, and holds key operating acreage in onshore Louisiana.

The Company increases the value of acquired properties in its core areas through a combination of exploitation drilling and proven engineering extraction practices.

Our client is currently looking for a Sr. Project Manager Facilities in our Plano, Texas office.

Responsibilities include implementing all phases of facility projects, including, but not limited to a workable design criteria, detailed design, procurement, construction, start-up, and commissioning. Responsibilities also include working with the various field teams to define the facility performance objectives, goals and critical areas of uncertainty.

The Sr. Project Manager will ensure the final project meets the cost, schedule and performance expectations of Denbury management. Meet safety and environmental objectives as outlined by industry standards, codes and Denbury policies.
The position will be based in Plano, TX but will require significant time spent at field locations and engineering contractor locations.
The position will report directly to the District Manager - Facilities.

Required Experience:

Required Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to:

• Work within our client’s team structure to develop surface facility design criteria, plans, schedules, cost estimates and other information to meet the performance objectives of the overall field development.

This will require sufficient general knowledge of oil and gas operations, environmental, safety, geology and reservoir engineering to ensure the

Sr. Project Manager can interpret the information provided by the other team members and effectively communicate how the facility will meet the objectives of the team.
• Select and work with engineering consultants and contractors to produce the deliverables necessary to meet the objectives and goals of the project.
• Meet with operations regularly and at specific milestones to ensure the facility has the necessary buy in from operations to perform reliably and meet safety and environmental industry standards, codes and Denbury policies.
• Coordinate with the Denbury regulatory department to ensure the project has the necessary permits and performance standards as required by local, state and federal agencies.
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules, status reports and presentations as needed by the team, Denbury Management and other stakeholders in the projects.
• Coordinate site construction activities with Denbury Construction Managers.
• Coordinate inspection and expediting activities with various offsite vendors, suppliers and fabricators to ensure the products meet the objectives of our client’s specifications and performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot and assist operations with facility repairs.
• Work with accounting to assist with project finance programs.
• Work closely with purchasing to provide all necessary information to obtain the best price, quality and delivery for purchased products and services in accordance with Denbury policies.
• Periodically travel to the vendors, fabricators and the construction site to ensure the various parts of the project are meeting the cost, schedule, performance, safety and environmental standards of the project.
• Develop start-up and commissioning plans and procedures and coordinate with operations and the CO2 Specialist to safely start-up and commission the facility.
• Lead all facets of the project.

Required Education:

• A minimum of 10 years prior experience in oil and gas or CO2 facility project management or design.
• BS in Engineering from an accredited college of engineering.
• Professional Engineer Certification – preferred but not required
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and engineering calculations.
• Understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, instrumentation and electrical engineering and construction techniques.
• Working knowledge of codes and specifications pertaining to the work.
• Ability to work within a team environment
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong public presentation and communication skills
• Working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and web based applications
• Valid driver’s license

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work will be conducted in many settings including the Plano office, district office, field offices, and oil and gas production facilities on land and possibly on water.
Work may require standing, stooping, walking, climbing, carrying instruments weighing up to 40 pounds, and wearing various personal protective equipment.
In addition, work will require travel by land, water, and air.

The company is seeking an experienced geologist with advanced reservoir description expertise. Candidate should have a demonstrated expertise and extensive experience in sequence and genetic stratigraphy, clastic sedimentology with a demonstrated capability in subsurface stratigraphic studies, correlation, mapping, core description/interpretation, and facies analysis.

Candidate should have been a member of a team responsible for integrated reservoir simulation studies. In addition, candidate should have experience and expertise in using current industry software for subsurface studies. An advanced capability in using geostatistics for generation of reservoir geologic models for reservoir simulation studies using oil industry contemporary geostatistical software is required.

Required Experience:
Job responsibilities include conducting and directing integrated reservoir description studies. Candidate will be a key member of a fully integrated, interdisciplinary team of geoscientists and advanced simulation/enhanced recovery engineers employing compositional simulation to assist in the design and management of our client’s CO2 floods.

Good communication skills are required to interface with geoscience and engineering staff responsible for our client’s many existing and pending CO2 flood implementations and management.

Required Education:
Geologist with a PhD degree and 20+ years of major oil company experience are preferred.

Geologic Manager

Well established, privately held oil company is seeking a highly motivated development geologist who has the ability to impact the company's bottom line in both acquisition evaluations and development phase. Supervision of small staff necessary. This position requires a track record in waterflood, detail geology and bypassed pay identification.

 

Candidates must have10+ years relevant experience, and a recent proven track record of value creation. The successful candidate will have responsibility for evaluating development and acquisition opportunities in multiple domestic basins of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Experience with SMT workstation and intermediate log analysis experience will be helpful.
